FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do I know if I am a good candidate for this procedure?

If you desire longer, fuller hair, consider yourself a good candidate. If your current hair condition is not damaged or over processed, you are a good candidate. If you have had any type of head injury or surgery and you have scarring on your scalp as a result, Bianca may be able to help you hide the scar with this extension system. If your hair looks thinner and has lost that thickness you once had in your younger years, you may want to use hair extensions to restore fullness. If you have been trying to grow your hair forever, but you just don't have the patience nor the growing rate that you need in order to achieve the length you want, by all means, consider hair extensions.

What is the procedure involved to get them done?

I first recommend a consultation to truly determine whether or not hair extensions are right for you. Simply, call to set a hair extension consultation appointment.  At this appointment, Bianca will determine what method will work best for you and your lifestyle. Bianca will guide you through the different application processes available, and will determine how many strands or bundles of extensions are needed, the desired length, what color, and of course, the cost.

How long do they last?

Depending on how fast your hair grows and how well you care for your hair, hair extensions can last for as long as 8 months.

How do I care for my hair extension?

Remember, the hair extensions are 100% Remy human hair. They are cared for no differently than you would your own hair; albeit that you don't neglect or abuse your hair. You can brush and style it as you would your own hair just being careful of the bonds closest to your scalp and using an extension brush.

How do I remove the extensions?

Do not attempt to remove your own extensions.  Bianca will remove your hair extensions with absolutely no damage to your natural hair.

How do I care for my hair extensions?

• Shampoo hair in a gentle manner no more than 2-3 times a week.

Condition hair from the mid shaft to the ends. Use a salon quality conditioner. Lightly rinse with cool water, leave some conditioner on hair.

Use an extension brush on the extensions, work from the bottom to the top

Always make sure your hair is dry and tied back in a loose ponytail or braid before going to sleep

Brush lengths three times a day

Curling irons, flatirons and hot rollers may be used

Seawater and pools can cause dryness to the extensions. To minimize these effects wet hair completely in a shower prior to swimming. After swimming, shampoo well and apply conditioner.

Some extension loss is normal and is to be expected. Average client hair loss is approximately 50-150 strands per day. You can expect to see a small quantity of naturally released hair trapped in the attachments after some time. This is normal and should not be interpreted as hair being pulled out of the scalp by the extensions themselves. Daily brushing close to the scalp and finger separation of the applied strands will avoid matting of this area.

If your hair and/or extensions are dry apply some leave-in conditioners or hair oil so that the hair is soft and moist. A good leave-in treatment can keep the hair from drying. But remember not to put too much otherwise there will be a build up and make the hair feel too heavy. If the hair feels too dry or heavy with too much hair care product you should wash the hair completely.
